Alexa Now Helps in Finding Nearest COVID-19 Vaccination Centers in India

Now, Amazon's voice assistant Alexa has received a vital update that allows it to locate COVID-19 vaccination clinics in India.

The update is presently being rolled out to Alexa-enabled devices, and it intends to provide consumers with useful information about nearby COVID-19 test/vaccination locations. Even though Alexa can already answer COVID-19-related queries owing to a prior update, the new update allows Alexa to locate and identify nearby health care institutions where the COVID-19 vaccine may be received.

So now, if you ask Alexa “where can I get COVID-19 test?” or “where can I get COVID-19 vaccine?”, the assistant will provide you the exact addresses of the nearest healthcare clinics where you can get COVID-19 tested or receive COVID-19 vaccinations. It will locate nearby vaccination clinics based on your current location.

Furthermore, you may utilize the Vaccine Info skill to locate a vaccination facility in another place or to verify the availability of vaccinations in health centers. So, if you tell Alexa to "open Vaccine Info," it will prompt you for a 6-digit PIN code to locate the information you need for a certain area. Additionally, Alexa can create a reminder to check for vaccination availability if it is currently unavailable in the closest center.

According to Amazon, Alexa will gather information from official platforms including the CoWIN portal, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) website, and MapMyIndia. As a result, customers can expect the voice assistant to provide them with useful and trustworthy information. The update is now being rolled out to all Indian Alexa users and should be accessible automatically soon.
